A Work in Progress

Sometimes things don't go according to plan. Sometimes despite all the planning and preparation, things go sideways, and that's ok! We are all on our own journey. We have our own path. We are all a work in progress.

I have always enjoyed crafting. Somewhere along the way between school, and career, and family, I thought I didn't have time to craft. Complicated situations and years of putting the needs of others before mine left me feeling empty and alone and unsure of myself. I was tired. Physically, emotionally, spiritually exhausted.

I knew I needed to make some difficult choices and changes. I wasn't sure where to start, and my thoughts and feelings were as disorganized and overwhelming as my messy garage. Somewhere among all the clutter, I found my long abandoned craft box. I decided to crochet that day, and I haven't stopped. First it was blankets for my kids, a shawl for a friend. You get the idea. It soon became a fascination with learning new stitches and new techniques. Getting lost in new projects helped me organize my thoughts feelings and find the clarity I was lacking. I made the difficult choices and changes, and reconnected with myself and found happiness and peace through crafting.

I am not where I thought I would be, but I am on the path to where I want to go.
